The Thinking like an Engineer project aims to show how it is possible to develop young engineers within the curriculum of Primary and Secondary schools, supported by extra-curricular activities.
Thinking like an Engineer will encourage more young people to engage with STEM subjects and consider careers in engineering.
A recent report for the Royal Academy of Engineering has identified that engineers have a specific way of thinking and approaching problems using six distinctive ‘engineering habits of mind’ (EHoM) namely: Systems Thinking, Adapting, Problem-Finding, Creative Problem-solving, Visualising, & Improving.
