Distance Learning
Step 1: Getting Started in Action Research This introduction comprises a number of online videos from Prof Bill Lucas, which can be watched at a time to suit you. There are a number of downloadable materials which accompany the videos, you need to allow approximately 1.5 hours in total.
Once you have completed this you will be ready to complete an 'Action Plan' with your proposed enquiry, which needs to be emailed to eednet@winchester.ac.uk for feedback from your tutor
In addition we recommend you set up regular meetings at your school with other teachers engaging in action research, as feedback from members shows that this peer support can be invaluable.
Once your action research is underway, we recommend you book a 1/2hr online tutorial with your tutor to discuss how it is going. If several teachers at your school are taking the distance learning option you may find it helpful to request a group tutorial.
Tutorials are normally held by Skype please email eednet@winchester.ac.uk to arrange your support session.
Step 3: Presenting your findingsOnce your action research is complete you are ready to share your findings. Please refer to our 'Report Guidelines' for advice on how you might like to present your research. Email your report to eednet@winchester.ac.uk for feedback from your tutor prior to publication.
Teachers can present their findings to their tutor and each other, sharing ideas and celebrating success.
